What better location than Barrow upon Soar? This lively village is certainly not lacking that community feel and has lots of lovely walks; truly an idyllic place that is perfect for raising children.

As soon as you enter the quaint, red door into the property, you are welcomed by feelings of cosiness and contentment. A bright entrance hall leads you into a large lounge. On a sleepy Sunday afternoon, you could snuggle with a book and enjoy the views of expansive countryside through the bay window. In the next room, you will find a stylish and modern kitchen-dining room, where you can cook, eat and entertain.

On the first floor there are two double bedrooms and a spacious family bathroom. One of the most attractive features of this home is the master bedroom, which extends the entire second floor. This luxurious room boasts an en-suite, fitted wardrobes and two skylights overlooking miles and miles of glorious fields. Waking up in the morning to such astonishing views, you might wonder whether you're still dreaming.

Outside, the well-maintained garden and patio area offers a wonderful space for children to play while the adults enjoy a refreshing drink on a warm summer's day. The garden is transformed in the spring, enjoying colourful flowers and tweeting birdsong. Due to its setting in the Leicestershire countryside, this home enjoys everything a rural dwelling has to offer, including an abundance of wildlife. You will see horses trotting past the front window or hikers climbing across the distant hills.

There is so much to love about the charming and well-established village of Barrow upon Soar. The lively village centre is a 10-minute walk, where you will definitely stumble into a familiar face. With an array of day-to-day amenities, schools, a church and several friendly pubs and restaurants to choose from, you will have everything you need, and more, in this bustling village. Build up an appetite by walking down the River Soar then stop off at one of the two pubs along the river (or both). One is a traditional cosy pub, whereas the other is a Gastro-style pub. What the current owners say

I fell in love with this house as soon as I stepped through the door. Inside, every room is superbly designed and the views are incredible. It delivered the best of both worlds - a peaceful country home in a fantastic village, with excellent links to cities on your doorstep.

The first thing that caught my attention about this house was the master bedroom. It's so light and spacious, with two skylights that look out on to the countryside - the views are off the charts. Being separate from the bedrooms on the first floor, you have the added bonus of privacy and seclusion. The children also enjoy the independence of having a floor and bathroom to themselves.

I bought this property independently in 2018 and pictured it as my forever home, although I now have a family, including two growing children, and we need some more space.

It is a lovely home for anyone searching for a well-loved to settle down and raise a family. The children have loved living here, with lots nooks and crannies to make a den or play hide and seek.
There is also a good-sized garden to play games or host summer parties. Summer is our favourite time of year here, as you can enjoy the fresh air, wildlife and vibrant flowers. Enclosed by trees and shrubbery, the garden is a haven to enjoy a peaceful glass of wine in the evening while watching the sun go down.

Barrow upon Soar is a friendly village with a lively community spirit; you're never lost for things to do. It's lovely letting the children out to play on a summer's day, either around the safe neighbourhood or in the park just a stone's throw away. You can rest assured that there are trusted neighbours over every fence if needed.

Taking long country walks has been brilliant for our mental wellbeing during lockdown, where you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings, bump into a friendly neighbour, or get a takeaway coffee along the river. The community also really pulled together; it was so touching to see the way people supported each other.
We have developed a real sense of belonging in this village and can't imagine living anywhere else.

All the memories we've made in the house will be cherished forever and we hope the new owners love it as much as we have.
