Fine & Country - Loughton Agent Valuation of this property is £1,600,000

Description:

Built in 1865, Castledon is a fine example of mid-Victorian architecture in the heart of Buckhurst Hill with its boutiques, cafes and restaurants, essential shops and two Central line stations all a short walk away. The house has been sympathetically restored and modernised whilst retaining all the original features and structure. The house is light and airy, providing high ceilings and spacious rooms throughout. There is a large cellar which extends the depth of the house and this provides additional storage space. At the front of the house, the gravel driveway provides parking for 3 cars with a secure gate in keeping with the style of the house. The large garden to the rear has many mature trees, bushes and flowering plants as well as a large centrally heated studio, providing a private work or gym area away from the house. The top floor bedrooms provide panoramic views over Epping Forest and north-east London. This is a house that will exceed expectations and viewing is highly recommended.

The house is situated in Buckhurst Hill in close proximity to Epping Forest, easy access to the M11 and access to the Central line taking you to Epping or into London. Beautiful parkland and the River Roding are close by for long country walks.

What the Owner says:
We've spent nearly fifteen happy years in this house where our children have grown up. We were attracted to the area by the excellent choice of primary and secondary schools, both state and private, all within 3-4 miles, and loved the house as soon as we stepped through the door. The driveway provides parking for 3 cars. There is easy access to all amenities for adults and children as well as public transport into London on buses and the underground. The house is in a prominent position in Buckhurst Hill and yet it feels private, and we love the garden with all its trees and flowers as well as the studio which we use as a gym. Having Epping Forest on our doorstep has provided many walking and cycling adventures over the years and we have enjoyed the best of the city and the country here.
