A beautiful garden apartment with 2 bedrooms and additional home study, set within an attractive Victorian villa on Woodbury Park Road. With a light and airy feel throughout and direct access to your own private garden to the rear, this elegant home is within easy walking distance of the town centre and High Brooms mainline station.
This delightful garden apartment is situated on Woodbury Park Road, and within easy walking distance of all the amenities that vibrant Tunbridge Wells has to offer. The flat has a wonderfully secluded feel, being set away from the road and situated down a few steps to the front. Thanks to the natural incline of the land, it has direct access to the garden at the rear. The accommodation internally is very spacious, with well-proportioned rooms well presented. There is a large dine in kitchen, flooded with light as a result of the large window to the front, and with a further internal feature window creating an attractive divide between this room and the adjacent home office. Both of the bedrooms are good doubles, and the bathroom has been recently refitted and now features a bath with shower over and stylish metro tiles. The sitting room to the rear is a very restful space, with its original and working open fireplace, fitted shelving and French doors providing direct access to the private and secluded rear garden, filled with sun throughout the day thanks to its southerly aspect. The courtyard garden has been laid with attractive sandstone paving, and is surrounded with mature shrubs. There are lovely rooftop views over the surrounding town. To the side of the property there is a covered area, perfect for the storage of bikes, logs etc, and access to the converted outhouse, perfect for more secure storage.
What We Love About This Apartment
We love that although this is an apartment, it feels very much like a separate dwelling, thanks to its private access, secluded position set down from the road, and direct access to its own garden.
This is also an incredibly peaceful apartment. Its location set down some steps, gives a real air of privacy, but thanks to the natural incline of the land, it does not feel like a lower ground floor apartment at all. The rooms are flooded with light thanks to the generous windows.
The property is beautifully styled, combining contemporary flair and design with classic period features. We love the original and unusual internal windows and the sash windows that remain. The fireplace in the sitting room is a great focal point.
The rear garden is a definite bonus for an apartment at this price point. It feels incredibly private and secluded, and has been landscaped by the current owners to really maximise the space and useability. Thanks to its southerly aspect, it enjoys the sun throughout much of the day, and the surrounding roof top views are a delight to gaze upon.
Finally, one element that flats often struggle with is storage, but this is not the case with this property. The covered external area is perfect for bikes and larger items, whilst the converted coal store provides a very secure area. This room is almost too good to be used simply for storage, as the owner has continued with the high standard of decoration and as a result, the room is beautifully presented!
Woodbury Park Road is ideally located within comfortable walking distance of the town centre and just 15 minutes to High Brooms station. The popular Grosvenor and Hilbert park, with its café, meeting space, playground, bowling green and expansive green spaces is only half a mile away. Tunbridge Wells offers a diverse range of restaurants, shops and sporting facilities, as well as the historic Pantiles, the elegant Georgian colonnaded walkway believed by many to be the most pleasant place in Tunbridge Wells to browse, shop, eat, drink and stroll are within comfortable walking distance. A regular farmers' and craft market is held fortnightly on the colonnade and features an excellent range of stalls selling high quality local produce, hot foods, crafts, homewares and accessories. There are excellent schooling options locally, within both the state and independent sectors, including those in the sought-after Kent Grammar system. The impressive, award-winning Bluewater Shopping Centre is only 45 minutes' drive, and if you want to escape to the coast, then the lovely seaside towns can be reached by train or car in under an hour.
This property is offered on a share of freehold basis, with 900 years remaining on the lease and the annual service charge is approximately £840 per annum. There are no specific lease restrictions, and pets are allowed. There is mains gas, electricity and water, and the apartment falls within Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, band B.
